Ben Nelms is an award-winning photographer based in Vancouver, Canada. Ben regularly works for such news clients as National Post, The Globe and Mail, Reuters, Bloomberg and Canadian Geographic. He currently works as a staff photojournalist for CBC News in Vancouver, B.C.

Ben is deeply passionate about the power of visual storytelling through photographs. When not photographing daily editorial assignments or working for corporate clients, Ben’s intense curiosity leads him to continually seek out and photograph new personal stories.

In 2016 Ben, alongside journalist Christopher Pollon, published “The Peace in Peril: The Real Cost of the Site C Dam” book through Harbour Publishing. The following year the book was a finalist for the Roderick Haig-Brown Regional Prize for the B.C Book Awards.

Also in 2016 Ben was the Official Royal Photographer to The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, William and Kate, for their Royal Tour of B.C and the Yukon.

Ben was named the 2019 Photojournalist of the Year from the National Photographers Association of Canada.
